Matt Pace

unnamedMatt Pace started teaching at Rock School in 2014 as a guitar, bass, keyboard, and drum instructor as well as a band director.  He started out in middle school on guitar but quickly branched out and learned whatever instruments he could get his hands on over his high school and college years.  While earning an MA in composition and a PhD in music theory at Washington University in St. Louis, Matt honed his musical craft in several rock bands and by composing scores for local movies.  With his group the Rats & People Motion Picture Orchestra he has spent a lot of time writing new scores for old silent films, as well as providing soundtracks to theatrical and cultural productions such as the Shakespeare Festival St. Louis’ 2013 production of Twelfth Night and the Missouri History Museum’s 250 in 250 exhibit celebrating the 250th anniversary of St. Louis. Matt is currently a professor at Webster University.
