Mike Murano

Mike Murano teaches drums and piano and is a band director at Dave Simon’s Rock School. He has been teaching at the Rock School since March 2011 . In high school, Mike started out by playing in percussion ensembles as well as the school jazz band.  While attending Webster University, Mike performed in multiple jazz combos and studied with local drummer Kevin Gianino. Mike received his BA in Audio Production from Webster University in May 2011.  His 13 years of drumming experience has allowed him to play at venues all around St. Louis, including The Pageant, The Old Rock House, and The Fox Theatre.  Along side being a freelance recording engineer, Mike currently performs with the UMSL Jazz combos and two local Jazz/Funk bands, The Sherpas and The Torrey Casey Group.
