About Rock School

Dave Simon’s Rock School creates a fun and energetic environment for kids ages 4-18 to discover the joys of music through the experience of learning how to play an instrument and performing with a rock band. The school’s curriculum involves private lessons, a performing rock band program, and a state-of-the-art recording studio. Students build their skill set in private lessons as they work towards placement in one of the school’s four rock band programs. Band placement is determined by a student’s performance on their quarterly musical skill assessment.

Private lessons are offered for guitar, piano, drums, bass guitar and voice.

Rock School for Ages 9-18

Beginning level students are placed into Rock Band 101 that performs a seasonal concert at Rock School. Our intermediate level programs, Junior Concert Band and Concert Band perform afternoon concerts at Rock School. Our advanced level bands, All-Star Band, perform a Sunday afternoon concert at Blueberry Hill. All bands rehearse and record a CD in the schools recording studio throughout the course of a school session (semester).

Rock School for Kidz: (ages 4-10)

Kidzrock (ages 4-8) is a program that teaches children how to play music in the setting of a rock band. Kidzrock uses a music notation system on modified instruments making instrumental playing easy and fun.

Jr. Rockerz is (ages 7-10) is a more advanced version of Kidzrock with children reading standard notation on full-sized instruments. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
