About Rock School

Dave Simon’s Rock School creates a fun and energetic environment for young people to discover the joy of music through the experience of learning how to play an instrument and performing with a rock band. The school’s curriculum involves private lessons, a performing rock band program, and a state-of-the-art recording studio. Students build their skill set in private lessons as they work towards placement in one of the school’s four rock band programs. Band placement is determined by a student’s performance on their quarterly musical skill assessment.

Private lessons are offered for guitar, piano, drums, and bass guitar

Beginning level students are placed into Rock Band 101 that performs a seasonal concert at Rock School. Our intermediate level programs, Junior Concert Band and Concert Band perform afternoon concerts at Cicero’s and Blueberry Hill. Our advanced level bands, All-Star Band, perform an evening rock concert at Cicero’s. All bands rehearse and record a CD in the schools recording studio throughout the course of a school session (semester).
